LIVE CONTENT COALITION RESPONDS TO THE EC'S CALL FOR EVIDENCE ON ONLINE PIRACY OF LIVE CONTENT
Digital
The European Commission (EC) provided an opportunity for feedback on online piracy of live content.

The Live Content Coalition, as signatories of the Call To Action to End Live Piracy Now, would like to restate that an EU legislative instrument still remains the most efficient way to tackle piracy of live content within and across Member States. Piracy represents a real risk to the whole creative and cultural industry value chain, to consumers’ welfare, and to the overall EU economy.

The Live Content Coalition asks that the Recommendation be clear on three outcomes:

1. Clarifying the current EU legislative basis

2. Promoting dynamic injunctions and identifying why and where there are gaps in their application

3. Delivering an assessment mechanism that reflects market realities
