Live Content Coalition highlights challenges of event organisers to tackle online piracy

Digital piracy can be particularly damaging with regard to live events, including sports, music concerts and festivals, TV shows etc. Given that the value lies in the live dimension, it is of critical importance to remove infringing broadcast as quickly as possible, and in any case before the event terminates.
The Live Content Coalition calls for legislative action to tackle online piracy of live events in the EU and find harmonised solutions including the immediate take-down of illegal broadcasts of live content, effective notice and action mechanisms and a trusted flagger system.
