Pearle* Activity Report 2025

The 2025 Pearle* Activity Report provides an overview of key achievements and initiatives of the past year.

In 2025, Pearle* continued to provide its members with direct insight into policy and regulatory developments at the European and international levels, ensuring they stay ahead of changes impacting the daily affairs of live performance organisations. Beyond information, Pearle* fosters exchange among professionals across Europe, offering a platform to discuss challenges, share expertise, and shape policies.

The report is structured around the 5 strategic areas defined in the 2024-2029 Pearle* Priorities paper, published in September 2024.

  • The innovative power of artistic creation, which includes topics such as cultural policy, education, skills, and artistic freedom
  • Live performance made by and for humans, which includes all activities, from employment to social dialogue, and social affairs.
  • Championing greening and sustainability, which includes Pearle*'s work on sustainability and climate change, etc.
  • Cherishing cultural exchange and its mobility, which includes Pearle*'s advocacy on travelling with musical instruments, the EU-UK cultural relations, third-country nationals, visas, and tourism.
  • Embracing digital and technological development, which includes topics such as AI, ticketing, dynamic pricing, online piracy, radio spectrum and stage technology.

2024 marked a year of institutional and political transition in Europe, with the formation of a new European Parliament and Commission. By 2025, the stage was fully set, and all the actors were in place, ready to shift from transition to action. Pearle* replied to a record 35 consultations, and attended almost 370 meetings!

The year was marked by the run-up and final release of two key frameworks from the European Commission of direct relevance for Pearle’s activities: the Quality Jobs Roadmap and the Culture Compass.
