Pearle* and the European Festivals Association (EFA) are delighted to present as a new feature a series of infographics complementing the Ultimate Guide for Cultural Managers.

The promotion and support of cross-border cooperation are based on the current series of publications “What you didn’t know about Europe - Ultimate Cookbook for Cultural Managers”. This collection was initiated by Pearle* and EFA in 2014 to improve general knowledge of the legal and managerial aspects of cross-border cultural cooperation. The content of the cookbooks have been updated in 2021 and some exist also in Czech and in French.

After the pandemic, mobility and live performances have restarted such as touring, residencies, and co-productions cross-border. Artists and cultural professionals need to travel very often to accomplish their work and show it to audiences. The cookbooks guide them through all the legal, technical, and financial aspects of cross-border cultural cooperation.

To continue this work and disseminate even more widely the existing publications, Pearle* and EFA have started to create infographics. The infographics complement the thematic cookbooks by translating the most important information into a condensed and visual way.

Infographics for the books on social security on cross-border mobility of artists, artist taxation, and VAT in an international context, are now all three available online in our resource centre and in the EFA Publications.

  • The infographic for the "Ultimate cookbook for cultural managers: social security in an international context" presents the steps to be taken and questions to be answered to understand the functioning of social security coordination rules in Europe. Download the infographic here.

  • The infographic for the "Ultimate cookbook for cultural managers: artist taxation in an international context" presents the steps to be taken and questions to be answered to understand how artist taxation happens when performing abroad. Download the infographic here.

  • The infographic for the "Ultimate cookbook for cultural managers: VAT in an international context" presents the consequences of VAT in an international context with a special focus on the EU live performance sector. Download the infographic here.

These infographics are developed in the framework of the cooperation between the European Festivals Association and Pearle* in the framework of the project "Revealing the Alliance", supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union that runs from 2022 to 2024. These infographics reflect the views only of the author, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
